Thrissur Pooram

Thrissur Pooram is one of the biggest festivals in Kerala. Its called Pooram of all Poorams. The Thrissur pooram is celebrated every year on the pooram day, in the month of Medam (mid-april to mid-may) month as per the malayalam calendar. Thrissur Pooram is the time when you can see probably the largest collection of decorated elephants. The pooram continues for 36 hours with its exhibition on elephants, 'panchavadyam' (a combination of five percussion and wind instruments) and fireworks.
